Trash collection begins at 7 a.m. and continue until routes are complete. Even if your materials are normally picked up at a certain time of day, all items should be at the curb by 7 a.m. Routes can change for many reasons which may alter the collection time on your street.
We will not return to empty a cart that was late to the curb.
Carts must be placed on a level surface with the arrow on the cover pointing towards the street (opening of lid should face the street; wheels toward the residence). Do not place on the sidewalk.
At least 3 feet and be free and clear of obstacles.
Keep carts out of snowbanks. Carts will not be emptied if placed on a snowbank and the cart will not be emptied until the next designated pick up day.
The following items are NOT accepted:
Do not cram garbage into the cart. This causes the trash to get stuck in the cart and it cannot be completely emptied.
If the lid of your trash cart cannot be completely closed, there is too much material inside it. Please do not overfill the cart.
Do not mark or paint the cart in any way; this will be considered graffiti. The cart is property of Tri-City Sanitation. You will be charged the replacement fee if you permanently alter the cart in any way.
Customer is responsible for the cart replacement cost of $80 if damages are caused by the customer.
Call or email Tri-City Sanitation.
If you move, do not take the cart with you. Each cart is stamped with a number that is specifically assigned to your address.
WHAT IF MY CART IS STOLEN?
If the cart is stolen, Tri-City Sanitation will make an attempt to locate it. If it cannot be located, the replacement fee of $80 will be charged to the resident.
